Jamie Smith joined the Mike Kelly Law Group litigation team in September 2015. A born and raised South Carolinian, Jamie dedicates herself to helping the people of her home state.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2013, Jamie began her legal career as an employment attorney, representing individuals facing workplace discrimination. She later transitioned to a role as in-house counsel for a privately held telecommunications company, focusing primarily on international and domestic contract litigation. Jamie served in this capacity for a year and a half before joining the MKLG family to resume a career as an advocate for the people. Today, Jamie's practice concentrates primarily on civil litigation in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, consumer law, and insurance denials. In addition to being a member of the South Carolina Bar, Jamie is licensed to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jamie holds bachelors degrees in international business and marketing from the University of South Carolina, with minors in Spanish and Russian. As part of her undergraduate studies, Jamie took language and culture courses abroad in Taganrog, Russia. Outside of the office, Jamie spends her time enjoying the company family and friends, traveling at every opportunity, and tackling the New York Times crossword. She also enjoys giving back. Jamie is involved in the local Cinderella Project, Columbia Opportunity Resource, and on Wednesday evenings you can find her playing Scrabble at the Wildewood Downs retirement community.
